Refund Policy

We stand behind the factual accuracy of every BuildClearance Permit Intelligence Report. If a report we delivered contains a material factual error about your property’s zoning, dimensional standards, flood-zone designation, or permit office, we will fix it or refund you. This page summarizes that policy in plain language. The full, controlling language lives in our Terms of Service.
Materially-Inaccurate Refund Policy
If a delivered Report contains a material factual error — meaning a stated fact about zoning classification, district setback/dimensional standards, current flood-zone designation, or permit office that is demonstrably incorrect at the time the Report was generated — we will, at our discretion, either:
- Issue a corrected Report at no charge, OR
- Issue a full refund of the Report price.
How to Request a Refund
Email hello@buildclearance.com within 30 days of Report delivery. Include:
- Your order number and the property address.
- The specific factual statement in the Report you believe is incorrect.
- Supporting documentation showing the correct value — for example, the municipal zoning map, the relevant section of the local development ordinance, the current FEMA flood-zone determination, or the permit office’s own published contact information.
We will review the submission and respond within 5 business days with our determination and, if applicable, the refund or correction.
What Is Not Refundable
We do not refund based on subjective disagreement with the BuildClearance Screening Score, the reviewing GC’s judgment, or a Report whose factual content is correct but whose conclusion is not what the Customer hoped to hear.
Rush surcharges and Consultation fees are non-refundable once the rush window has elapsed or the consultation has been delivered, regardless of Report outcome.
Chargebacks
If you believe there is a problem with your order, please contact us first — we will work with you in good faith. Filing a chargeback before contacting us prevents us from investigating and resolving the issue directly, and may delay any legitimate refund.
